Job Description:


The Estimator works with Field Technicians, Customers and Vendors, to research and prepare service and repair estimates. This work includes researching material cost and availability, interpreting parts manuals, creating purchase orders, and maintaining the ERP database. The successful candidate will have previous service estimation experience, strong computer and customer service skills.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, interpret and review inbound Requests for Quotes (RFQ) from field engineers
  • Research parts and labor using internal database, vendor support and OEM material
  • Create written estimates based on customer contract requirements and pricing
  • Create repair estimates based on customer requests
  • Submit estimates to customer, follow up at defined intervals to “close” the estimate and/or educate as required, and document all communication throughout the process
  • Interpret and create repair estimates based on fluid sample results
  • Create and follow-up on purchase orders for vendors and engineers
  • Verify and update vendor parts costs
  • Other Requirements
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required

Experience and Skills:

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the commercial/Industrial Generator Service industry is required
  • Must be able to read and interpret parts manuals
  • Ability to obtain accurate pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc.
  • Ability to interpret field provided documents and service reports
  • Proficient computer skills to include MS Outlook, MS Excel, and ability to learn and become proficient in company ERP System/Estimation Software
  • Must be very detail oriented, organized and able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service, support, and follow-up skills
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to be a contributing member of a high performance work team
  • Must take pride in your work and have a strong work ethic
  • Motivated to pursue a career in generator services

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
